Tea Hoarding

Tea Hoarding

Jeff and I have recently developed an obsession with tea drinking that has resulted in acquisition of lots of tea “stuff”. It all started when we decided we liked the tea at a local Korean BBQ restaurant (you know, back when people could safely eat in a restaurant). We eventually discovered the tea was called hoji-cha and went on an expedition to the local Asian market to pick some up.

I (Still) Love Lisa Frank

I (Still) Love Lisa Frank

I’m sure it comes as no surprise that Lisa Frank school supplies were a major part of my childhood. The bright rainbow colors and cute animals are right up my alley. A few years ago Lisa Frank came out with a series of adult coloring books that were available at Dollar General. There are no DGs in my area so my wonderful mom located a set and mailed them to me. I have hoarded them away for the last few years instead of actually using them.

Snowmageddon 2019 & BBQ

Snowmageddon 2019 & BBQ

The greater Seattle area had Snowmageddon 2019 over the last week. Jeff and I were stuck in the house for way longer than we liked, but they don’t have the people power to clear the roads like they do back home in the Midwest/on the East coast. It’s a thing that makes us pretty unhappy, but it is what it is and we’d rather stay safe than get into an accident or get stuck somewhere. On the bright side, we got some really pretty (and quite large) icicles on the back of our house.

Back in our food loving world, we were pretty excited to get out of the house to try Jack’s BBQ this weekend with a few friends. For reference, Jeff and I haven’t found many barbecue restaurants we’d actually consider good since we moved to Seattle (we’re barbecue snobs and we admit it) - we were hoping this place would be different. We ordered quite a few things to get a good sampling of the food: pulled pork, a sausage link, brisket, pork ribs, a cup of chili, slaw, and collard greens.

Evergreen State Fair 2017

Evergreen State Fair 2017

We made our yearly fair trip to get Jeff a corn dog yesterday. He has come to prefer the Evergreen State Fair to the Washington State Fair because it's easier to get to and he says the food is better. I'm undecided, but I also really like fair food so it doesn't make a ton of difference to me. Anyway, we spent a few hours eating and seeing all kind of animals. Here are some photographic excerpts for your enjoyment!
